Electrical Fault Packs for Electrical Troubleshooting Series V3

Fault Packs are a series of faults that can be added to the Troubleshooting Skills Series V3 programs.

Each fault pack consists of up to 8 faults and is designed for a specific program. Each fault pack has a theme and a difficulty level to give you an idea of what type of faults you will encounter. Some of these fault packs are very challenging with multiple failed components per fault.

For Troubleshooting – Basic Techniques (TBT)

TBT Mixed #1	8 faults	Advanced	The theme for this fault pack is MIXED faults. Opens, shorts and defective components are all possibilities. Most faults consist of one faulted component, however some faults may contain more than one.

For Troubleshooting – Control Circuits (TCC)

TCC Shorts #1	8 faults	Advanced	The theme for this fault pack is SHORTS. Most faults consist of one faulted component or wire plus a possible fuse.
TCC Combo #1	8 faults	Advanced +	The theme for this fault pack is COMBINATION faults. Most faults consist of two faulted components which can consist of opens and shorts or faulty components. On many of the faults the “superintendent” tried but was unable to fix the fault.

For Troubleshooting – Motor Controls (TMC)

Fault Pack	Quantity	Difficulty	Description
TMC Mixed #1	8 faults	Advanced	The theme for this fault pack is MIXED faults. Opens, shorts and defective components are all possibilities. Most faults consist of one faulted component, however some faults may contain more than one problem. Many of these faults focus on motor behavior and motor protection.
NEW! TMC Combo #1	8 faults	Advanced +	The theme for this fault pack is COMBINATION faults. Most faults consist of two faulted components which can consist of opens and shorts or faulty components. On some of the faults the “local mechanic” tried but was unable to fix the fault.

Notes:

Each fault pack can only be used for a specific program as indicated in the Troubleshooting Skills Series V3 programs. They will not work with any other program.
Faut packs are only available by download (the file size is relatively small - 750KB).
These fault packs are only for the Personal and Shop Editions. Contact us for information on fault packs for the Industrial Editions.
The Troubleshooting Skills programs must be installed and activated before installing the fault packs.
