Resistor Color Band Calculator

Use

    This calculator will function in two ways:

• Calculate color code given value
• Calculate value given color code

    The upper portion of the screen contains the values:

• Ideal: The specified target value (without regard to variance)
• Max: The maximum allowable value within the given tolerance
• Min: The minimum allowable value within the given tolerance

    The lower portion of the screen contains the color bands:

• 1st Band: The color of the first band (first digit)
• 2nd Band: The color of the second band (second digit)
• 3rd Band: The color of the third band (multiplier)
• 4th Band: The color of the fourth band (tolerance)


Entering Value
    Tap the box to the right of the Ideal, Min, and Max fields to select the Calculation from Value method, then:


• Enter the desired value of resistor into the Ideal field
• Tap the Calc button

    The color band lists will adjust to display the colors associated with this value.

    You can adjust the 4th (tolerance) band at any time to update the Min & Max values.


Entering Colors
    Tap the box to the right of the color band lists to select the Calculation from Color-Bands method, then:


• Select the color of each of the 4 bands using the associated pop-up menus

    Each time you make a change the 3 values displayed at the top of the form will change.
